Hiking:
In Kachemak Bay State Park, take a water taxi to the trail heads and
experience Alaska at it's best - over 80 miles of trails to choose from -
all just minutes away from our dock.
Guests of Cove Country Cabins have easy
access to Kachemak Bay State Park Trail heads right from our private dock.
Bay Roamers Water Taxi will pick you up and drop you off in the park, where
you can enjoy a few hours hiking or a full day of outdoor activities, they
then return you to Cove Country Cabins.
Also wildlife and site seeing tours can be arranged.

Experience
the protected waters of Halibut Cove from your rental sea kayaks.
Enjoy the sunrise and sunsets of Alaska. Get an up close look at nature's
tide pools and the waterfront community in Halibut Cove. Paddle quietly
among sea otters and seals as you watch bald eagles soar above. There
are several kayak rental businesses to choose from along with full guided
tours. Just ask us for a list of them.

Kayak Tours" with their popular guided half day kayak
trip...Following the paddling,
Bay Roamers Water Taxi will pick you up from St. Augustine's
dock and take you to the trail head at Glacier spit in the Kachemak
Bay State Park. where you will be on an independent hike, on a
scenic and well marked trail that leads up to a stunning vista of
the lake and glacier. "Bay Roamers" will return for you following
your hike to deliver you to the celebrated "Saltry
Restaurant" in Halibut Cove where you can stroll boardwalk
between art galleries and reflect upon your day over an exceptional
meal in a restaurant with extraordinary ambiance. You will return to
Homer on the
M/V Danny J.
The price includes all transportation between: Homer, Peterson Bay,
Park Trail Heads, Halibut Cove and the evening return to Homer on

GLACIER KAYAKING
Hike to Grewingk Glacier Lake, then kayak with your guide toward the
clear-blue ice. Paddle amidst icebergs and shorebirds as you
approach the face of this ancient glacier.
